I've been completely spoiled at the coffee house I go to. They not only serve coffee (and tea, and cocoa), but also sodas and you can have flavored syrups added to any of your drinks (not just the sodas). Anything from cherry, vanilla, banana, chocolate, toasted marshmallow, coconut, lime, lemon, raspberry, Irish cream, pina colada, etc (I think they have over 30 flavors). I don't even like to drink plain 7up/Sprite or Coke/Pepsi anymore. I've been ruined, LOL. My all-time favorite rainy day coffee shop drink is mocha with a raspberry shot. Way expensive, but way yummy. Something I picket up at age 12 when I went to music camp at the U of Illinois campus. Every morning before choir, my friends and I went to the same coffee house where we got some very strange looks from the other patrons. There is a place by my parents' office that makes all those flavors in smoothies. And they can even mix them together, ie apple and caramel for a caramel apple flavored smoothie, vanilla and orange for a dreamsicle smoothie. They were a treat when I worked with my parents this summer! My favorite coffeeshop isn't even here in the Bay area, if you can believe it. When I was going to Cal State University Northridge (CSUN), I used to frequent a little shop called Common Grounds, right down the street from the campus (Prairie and Reseda). No bookstore, but great atmosphere. I used to spend hours nursing cups of coffee while I studied. And they have great food and live music at night (including poetry readings and amateur nights). Whenever I'm back there, I make sure I visit the place. Christine
