You might ask when the office will make an appointment for your baby.  My friend's ped. won't even see her baby unless he has a fever of at least 102! Tess doesn't run fevers w/ anything but a virus and I don't take her for that anyway.  She had a nasty ear infection when she was about 6 months old.  I made an appointment w/ her Dr. (my family Dr.-whom I trust) just because she was acting funny .  They got her right in.  That is very important to me.  I know her better than anyone and if I feel there is something wrong w/ her, I want to be taken at least seriously enough to get an appointment.   Julie-Mommy to Tess *Those who say Motherhood is a thankless job should be pitied.  They are missing the whole point.*

be taken at least seriously enough to get an appointment. I agree.  A friend of mine is a dr who works with critically ill kids and she once told me it's amazing that even the youngest, most inexperienced parent has a good sense of when her own baby is not right.  After hearing that from her I think I would be very uncomfortable with any dr who had a dividing line like a particular temperature or even a particular set of symptoms for when to see patients and when not to.
