Hello All,    Last week my doctor informed me that i was in perimenopause. I'm 43. The blood test showed up. Two months ago, or three, I can't remember, I had one done and it was normal. THIS IS WHY I'VE BEEN FEELING SO SHITTY ! ( is shitty in the dictionary?)..... I'm still young ( well, young enuf ) and didn't think I would be going thru this at this age, but I am. I just feel 100 % better knowing that there is a REASON why i feel this way. When I feel strange things happening to me, i no longer freak out like i did before. Okay a little bit, but not much. hehe.. Anyway.. I've had too much wine, I can't see straight....Gotta go, Just wanted you to know. Brenda

you to know. Brenda Dear Brenda. I was 42 when I started perimenopause. I didn't have a period for 3 years. I felt horrible, hot flashes, mood swings, and night sweats. IT was so hot for me that I would walk outside in winter in a tee shirt and shorts. I am on Prempro hrt. I take the smallest dose and cut it in half. I have researched the options and right now this is what I am doing. I also take vitamin E,folic acid, calcium and magnesium, and omega 3(fish oil)fatty acids. I get palpitations which have been tested and proven to be benign, but they could be from the perimenopause or the anxiety. The perimenopause may have started or at least contirbuted to the panic attacks but everything happened all at once and I was diagnosed at the same time. I felt so bad and I didn't know why. My body just seem to be totally out of it. Once the hrt was started, I felt such an overall difference-very positive. But I still have the anxiety and panic and depression. Although somewhat better, I still have to take meds for this until I am at a much better place. Right now, I am very content with my life on the medications. One book that is EXTREMELY important to read is by Gail Sheehy. It is called THE SILENT PASSAGE. I read it in a couple of hours and I recommend it to anyone that is starting the change of life.
