I've been trying, in vain, to decide on what next to do with my hair. It's wavy, damaged, and generally fussy. And then I thought back, waaaay back, to a year or so ago, when I had My Best Hair_style_. My hair had gone oddly straight, and silky, it was a short bob, that gently slanted forward (It was shorter in the back, and gently got longer as youe went around toeards my face, if that makes any sense) with the under-part shaved. The bangs were long, going just down to the bridge of my nose, and they had to be curled to look right. My hair, at that time, was Clairol Nice n' Easy blue black. It always seemed to fall *just right*. It wasn't terribly unique, or amazing, it was a really good haircut, easy to _style_ and looked pretty darn good on me....however, my stylist has never been able to re-create it, and I've no pictures from this time. Anyway, this brings me to the question: What is the best hair_style_/cut you've ever had, and why was it so good?

And then I thought back, waaaay back, to a year or so ago, when I had My Best Hair_style_. Anyway, this brings me to the question: What is the best hair_style_/cut you've ever had, and why was it so good? This is sad. But my best hair day was in third grade. I went to a school that was big into celebrating other cultures, and on Russian day my mother had gotten my hair to be curly, instead of wavy frizzy. And it was long and auburn. We girls had red paper flowers in our hair, and it was the only time I ever thought the world was all about *my* hair. I did some horrible wacked out things to my hair as a teenager, much worse things than the usual experimentation, and I don't have the good hair gene, so it took me a while to figure out how to be zen about my hair, and be happy for what I have. I think that a lot of people that are attracted to hairdressing as a career are similar. My _style_ now is the best I've had it as an adult. It's black and healthy, a wavy bob with long bangs in it's natural state, when I ask it to do 40's type sets it is sweetly compliant. I cut it myself, but it tends to turn out the same no matter who does it, as long as it's even, which is something I'm beginning to love about it.

<< Anyway, this brings me to the question: What is the best hair_style_/cut you've ever had, and why was it so good? I might be jumping the gun, but I would have to say I'm loving the cut I gave myself (with a wee bit of assistance from my aunt) a couple of days ago. It's in a slightly graduated bob, and I adore it so far. It was purely an impulse thing; I'vd been happy because my hair was finally getting long, but something told me to go for the cut, and I don't regret it one bit. It makes my hair look shiny and swingy, and it looks amazingly good when my hair is straight or curly. I love the feeling of the longest parts in the front that sort of hug my cheeks when I shake my head, hehe. For the curious, here is a photo: http://mysticalviolet.net/newhair.jpg -e*

Anyway, this brings me to the question: What is the best hair_style_/cut you've ever had, and why was it so good? I've always had short hair (above shoulders). I think my favourite cut was the inverted bob - long at front, short at back _style_. My hair is currently about 2 inches at the back and crown, and lip level at the front. I find it's a versitile _style_ - long enough in the sides for ponyfalls, but short enough to slick back, spike up, add clips, hairbands and anything else. In terms of the cut that suited me the most, I'd have to say that fairly short _style_s look better on me than chin length bob _style_s. But if cut it all off again I won't be able to wear falls...

And she did. It loved it, it was soooo low maintenance and looked fine even first thing in the morning.... and it took my hair about 10 minutes to dry. Donnla.

Anyway, this brings me to the question: What is the best hair_style_/cut you've ever had, and why was it so good? I'm gonna go with the hair_style_ I've had for the past 10 years. ^_^ Let's see... when I was young, I had long, long hair. Past my waist. I went into hospital for a few weeks when I was 5, and when I got out, needed my hair trimmed. They chopped it all off. I ended up with chin-length hair. So I grew my hair out. And never stopped. I had waist-length hair until I was in 7th grade or so. Pin straight. Then I got this idea that i needed curly hair. (Wrote about this the other day...) long story short: it was a nightmare and I ended up with a girl-mullet. In 7th grade. Yeah. Life was good. So then I grew my hair again, and kept it curly for a few years. And did a vaguely big hair thing. THEN I woke up and said you know, my hair really doesn't look good. And started growing it out. Have you ever grown out a perm? It's not attractive. One night, my best friend took me in the _base_ment of my house and chopped off my mid-back length hair into a graduated bob - ear length in back, just to my chin in front. I've kept this, with slight variations, since. This was when I was 16. Actually, right now, my hair, in the back, is almost chin length and the front is a bit longer. Debating whether or not I should cut it... pixie why won't it snow... like they said it would what is it that they know... that i really should? ~jj72
