Kate has the additional similarity with Laurie of being ostensibly disgusted by the thought of who her biologic father ostensibly was, of having part of him in her , as told to Sawyer. Kate and Jack also resemble Laurie & Dan in that they got married; things just happened in a different order. When did they get married? Jack & Kate? Some time after Jack asked Kate to marry him. Laurie & Dan? In the last chapter. Did I confabulate a bit? I lent my copy, so I can't check now.

I also do not see your other points of comparison either. If anyone has a personality like the Comedian, it's Ben. He does have those tendencies too. However, Mr. O'Quinn was the one whose face was made up to resemble the bloody smiley, and Locke was the one thrown out an upper story window, whose obituary said he was from New York, and which implied that his death was thought to have been a suicide. But even if you could find as many resemblances with Ben, who's to say the makers of Lost wouldn't put in 2 Comedians, just as it seems they put in 2 Dr. Manhattans (Jin & Desmond)? trying to kidnap Ben, not kill him. If he was simply out for revenge on Ben, why kidnap him instead of outright killing him? Because he can't (or thinks he can't) kill him. You'd think that Keamy would've at least tried

I'm guessing that Keamy was probably more worried about ticking off the boss (if he were to try to (or succeed in) killing Ben) than he was about testing any theory that Widmore may have given him regarding Ben's invincibility. But, so far as we know, his orders were specific and, according to Miles, Widmore would've been content just knowing Ben was dead. That was the idea behind the 3.2 million payoff, right? I'm not sure. I don't know why Widmore would offer the money to kill Ben if he knew that Ben couldn't be killed

Unless he or someone he trusts actually did the killing (something that Ben aluded to in his dialogue to Jack), there's no way to confirm the death of Bentham. Not the way it actually played out, no. But Widmore could have confirmed it
