DOLORES UMBRIDGE (Imelda Staunton) - sporting a locket during her interrogation of Muggle-borns BELLATRIX LESTRANGE (Helena Bonham Carter) - only around briefly for book 6, but has more of a role in book 7.  Carter will also have to play her own Polyjuice impersonation by Hermione PHINEAS NIGELLUS BLACK (John Atterbury) - His role in OotP was trimmed down a lot in movie 5 GRAWP (Tony Maudsley) - Battle of Hogwarts And then there's the one character whom we won't see at all, PEEVES THE POLTERGEIST (bugger for him) ============================= NEW CHARACTERS, NEW CASTING Movie 6 HORACE SLUGHORN - Yes, it's confirmed: Jim Broadbent got the part (as of September 17).  I remember him sporting a walrus mustache in the role of W.S. Gilbert (of Gilbert & Sullivan) in the movie Topsy- Turvy.  He should do fine, here. RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR - They may just leave Cornelius Fudge still duking it out as Minister until book 7, when the Dark Order whips HIS ass in the Ministry coup.    Otherwise:  Hugo Weaving / Jeremy Irons / Stephen Rea / Geoffrey Rush / Malcolm McDowell / Albert Finney / David Warner / Sam Neill / Tim Curry MUNDUNGUS FLETCHER - Lo and behold, this character, which movie 5 skipped, becomes pivotal in books 6 and 7.  I have very few thoughts on who could play this role...Billy Connolly? (once vouched for Mad-Eye Moody) NARCISSA MALFOY - Nicole Kidman / Naomi Watts BILL WEASLEY - We've only seen a glimpse of him in the family photo in Egypt; he may or may not be bitten by Greyback BOB OGDEN - could be any guy at any age (his memory takes place 70 years in the past) - Derek Jacobi / Ewan McGregor MARVOLO GAUNT - someone who could look like an aged monkey and do grouchy, irritable... Anthony Hopkins / Bob Hoskins / Colm Meaney MORFIN GAUNT - cross-eyed and mad... Robert Carlyle / Eddie Izzard / Tim Roth / Alan Cumming MEROPE GAUNT - cross-eyed and terrified... Toni Colette / Emily Watson (Breaking the Waves) / Rachel Wiesz TOM RIDDLE SR - Chirstian Coulson might be old enough to play this part; or maybe Ralph Fiennes MRS. COLE - someone who could do some heavy drinking... Helen Mirren / Judy Davis TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE, age 11 - an unknown, must be someone who can appear scary, like Damian of the Omen HEPZIBAH SMITH - Patricia Rutledge ( Keeping Up Appearances ) HOKEY - another CGI character YAXLEY - ? AMYCUS CARROW - ? Bob Hoskins ALECTO CARROW - ? FENRIR GREYBACK - Tim Roth ( Planet of the Apes ) / Hugh Jackman (Wolverine in X-Men ) THORFINN ROWLE - ? (blond Death Eater) LAVENDER BROWN - time for Ron Weasley to do a little snogging ... PRIME MINISTER - Seriously, are we even going there?  If so, do we really want to recruit Hugh Grant ( Love Actually )? Movie 7 XENOPHILIUS LOVEGOOD - Slightly cross-eyed, with shoulder-length white hair the texture of candy-floss... No ideas....almost like two of Ian McKellen's roles in one: Gandalf ( LotR ) + Leigh Teabing ( The Da Vinci Code ), but he'd be too old to be considered a father of young Luna... ELPHIAS DOGE - seen as part of Advance Guard, portrayed by Peter Cartwright. If recast - Peter O'Toole ABERFORTH DUMBLEDORE - seen briefly in movie 5, portrayed by Jim McManus. DEDALUS DIGGLE - was he in movie 1? TED TONKS - ? maybe Michael Caine or Sean Connery ANDROMEDA TONKS - Helena Bonham Carter might have more work cut out for her, as this Black sister is briefly mistaken by Harry for Bellatrix. AUNT MURIEL - Judi Dench (unless she's chosen for Mrs. Longbottom) ANTONIN DOLOHOV - ? Clive Owen? PIUS THICKNESSE - long black hair & beard...streaked with silver, and great overhanging forehead shawdowing his glinting eyes, putting Harry in mind of a crab looking out from beneath a rock. ...Hugh Laurie, maybe? MAFALDA HOPKIRK - ? someone who has to act out of character for the part ALBERT RUNCORN - ...more than six feet tall... powerfully built, with a beard... and supposedly intimidating with his presence.  I keep thinking of Gerard Butler from the movie 300 (as King Leonidas) REG CATTERMOLE - small, ferrety-looking wizard MARY CATTERMOLE - small woman...dark hair smoothed into a bun... her face... completely bloodless   Brenda Blethyn? Samantha Morton? DIRK CRESWELL - ? He's young, but only overheard in conversation and not seen... Ewan McGregor? MUGGLE COUPLE (Godric's Hollow) - Maybe Harry & Hermione might not bother with this Polyjuice disguise,
