Funny, when I but G.B. Sr. as number 10, I KNEW there would be some a**hole who would make a negative personal comment... I love making people jump.

It has been argued on this NG successfully that Raegan and Bush were most certainly *not* the only or perhaps not even the main factors in the fall of Communism at least 5 times this year alone. It's not a personal comment. I'd only call those arguements successful in the sense that they didn't degenerate into BoP-violating flamewars. As a general rule of thumb, the person sitting in the big chair is going to claim the credit for good things that happen while they're sitting it it. Thus, we have Reagan and Bush claiming credit for the collapse of communism, and Clinton claiming credit for the prosperity of the 1990s- even when the specific cause-and-effect that brought these things about are rather murky. But I don't begrudge them the credit, largely because these people also tend to get the blame for the bad things that happen while they're in the big chair, even when there was no practical way to do anything about it.
