From other people whose bunnies have had this problem, I have heard that the secret to recovery is long term antibiotic therapy. Head tilt especially, needs time to respond to the treatment. So a month at least of antibiotics is not unusual. I am going to e-mail you a _link_ to an article about head tilt written by a House Rabbit Society Educator who knows her stuff. Good luck

Hang in there Clarice. Your bunny can fully recover given the proper diagnosis, medications and care. There have been several bunnies on the newsgroup who have *fully* recovered and there are others who recovered and live with a slight tilt. The wry neck is part and parcel of the ear infection. If possible a culture should be done to determine the type of infection. However, it seems that Baytril is the antibiotic of choice. If your bunny stops eating you will need to force feed. Supportive care is crucial in the long recovery period. As Kris said, it takes a month of antibiotics to see any improvement. There will be moments when things seem bleak, but your bunny can recover - give her a chance and give her time. I suggest you do a search on head tilt at the House Rabbit Society web page. Here's the _link_; http://www.rabbit.org They have info there on medical and supportive care for head tilt bunnies. Good luck. Meanwhile I'm going to forward your post to some one I know who had 2 bunnies with head tilt. One made it, one didn't. She has a lot of experience in caring for head tilt bunnies. Cindy
