Or as my instructor said get a friend to lunge you and in return lunge them. do this ocasionally and do torturous exercises. cheers Pip

With all due respect Avril, you cannot compare me and Pip (for example,) with Jem and Matt. I have the same problem as Pip with a 36 inch inside leg (prolly worse than Pip) and as a happy hacker/whatever if my legs are insecure then every thing else goes out the window.  Whilst you are right about being hung up about saddles, it is a genuine issue to us lesser mortals (me particularly) who can progress much more if my leg is where its supposed to be not forced into a totally unbalancing position.  Ive seen Jem jump a  5' oxer in a dressage saddle, with the best will in the world,  I am not and never will be Jem/matt. What Pip needs is a saddle, what ever type/size/whatever she needs, (forget the type and trainer opinions),  that she can do what she wants to and acheive what she wants to in safety and comfort. I borrowed a very forward cut GP type saddle for Hairy Mairy when I went hunting from Jem, it was very old and it was absolutely perfect as when I hoiked up my stirups to jump (yes really, I did - jump) my legs were still in the same proximity as the saddle not flappin in the breeze.   Sometimes its easy to blame the tools for our faults, but just occasionally Avril there really is something in it.
