public prosecutors in Posen investigated the incident and charged Ignatz Kazmierczak with 'intentional damage to official property.  In its decision of December 4, 1941, the Posen Special Court summarized the evidence against him as follows.  'The witnesses themselves did not actually see who injured the dog, but the guilt of the accused is established by the following facts.  When the accused was arrested on Augest 4, 1940, the witness Knippel brought along his injured dog.   On seeing the dog the accused became alarmed, began to tremble violently, and threw up his arms in fright.  The dog
