This might be too broad of a post but I wanted to start a post on what equipment, education, and techniques are needed for a truly frugal life. Example.... lest start with what constitutes the ideal frugal vehicle(s)? In my mind the ideal frugal vehicle is one that is of reasonable or cheap cost, gets good gas mileage but also has many other features such as utility. So would that utility vehicle be say a small city type truck such as two wheel drive Toyota truck? Or would it be a small station wagon type vehicle that has a flat even surface at back so that one can easily load and haul stuff in back? I have a Mazda Protege and altho it is miserly on gas use I wouldn't necessarily call it a frugal vehicle because its a real PAIN to haul anything in it. The trunk is recessed such that you have to raise anything over the lip of trunk to get it out thereby throwing back out. See what I mean by what features constitute a frugal vehicle? It is not only frugal in cost but frugal in utility and effort as well. So... lets start with vehicles. What in your mind is the ultimate frugal vehicle type as far as vehicles other than cycles or scooters for now? What qualities would this frugal vehicle have and why? Would like to start with vehicles and go form there to frugal home.... frugal education... etc
