Hi everyone: This is my first visit here - and I believe I found the right newsgroup! This is my first attempt at having a bird feeder, and feeding birds in the yard, and I have a few questions. My husband built the bird feeders out of wood, there are 2 of them, and he has them on a long pole in our side yard.  We live in the country - and it's very quiet here, and there are many birds. I have a bird feeder in the backyard also, that I have been putting bread crumbs in, and attracting crows - which I don't really mind. Also, a few blue birds (large) have been eating the crumbs... sorry I don't know their name. Now, I want to start attracting different types of birds to the front feeder, and we've bought seed for a variety of birds - but so far, have had nobody stop by!   Do you think the feeder is too far in the air?  Perhaps the seed is wrong?  Could it be the feeder itself (being too big or too narrow, etc.) or just that it takes them time to get use to it being there - and to trust it? I would appreciate all the suggestions I can get! Thanks so much! Diane
