I met a friend for breakfast today and not having had pancakes I decided to have them for breakfast. The order had three pancakes and two sauages. I ate one and one half of the pancakes,a drop of sugar free syrup and butter with coffee. Before eating I was 95 which gave me some leeway and that is why I decided to have them. I came home and feel like i need to sleep for four hours I tested and did I have my socks blown off. I was at 207 and that was for half a portion. Cream has fewer carbs than nonfat milk. 1 cup nonfat milk - 12 g carbs 1 cup regular milk - 11 g carbs 1 cup whipping cream - 3 g carbs Wow! Maybe I should switch to having whipping cream with my cereal. That's almost nothing (3g). I guess it could be expensive though, and I don't think that the additional fat would be an issue for me. Plus, the additional fat in the cream could lower the GI of the meal... Plus, cream is just yummy...

Hmmm... thanks for the info! Steve dont rush steve fo the cream because it is low ihn carbs but very high in fat and cholesterol I use as a compromise half and half an mine is two carbs per serving. LorettA

I was told by the last dietician I saw that I could eat 2 - 3 pancakes. No butter because they are high in fat, and no syrup, aside from that nasty no carb stuff. And, no other protein because there is protein in the pancakes. Yeah right! That's not breakfast. It's a joke! Pancakes used to be one of my favorite foods. Sometimes I will stick my face over my daughter's plate and inhale deeply. That's as close as I'll ever get to eating them. *L* Someone suggest whole wheat pancake mix and I found it in hte supermarekt. One quarter cup mix i 23 carbs for 3 four inch pancakes. I used an eighth of a cup of mix with some oil and some half and half with eggbeaters I got abut four silver dollar pancakes out of eat put some blueberries on top with one spoon coolwhip and on the side I hdd one eggbeater with one slice turkey salami and alpine lace muenster with some mushrooms and then one qurtr cup grapefruit sectios for five carbs so porton cotrol is imporant and now for my two hour result incredibly is 112. I was at eighty before eating. very satifying meal and good for my bgs Loretta
