Steve If you get some in a large container and don't like it, I will buy the remainder from you.  It's all I use and I'll be using a lot this summer. post is sole for the purpose of entertainment and NOT education...do you think this works RICK?? Should this be added to the signature? Now the post - For those that use Hammer products: They are all SUGAR FREE and designed to endurance and sustained energy, not the energy rush and crash sugar can provide. They say if you mix the Hammer products with other products that contain sugar you will experience an upset stomach. So I only use Hammer Gels and Perpetrium. Everyone's gut is different and you will need to figure this out for yourself too. I noticed a difference last year when I started with Perpetrium. I still cannot finish in the every man for your self race at the end but now I am there when it starts. Yesterday with about 4 hours of riding I consumed 5 bottles of water, 5 scoops of Perpetrim (mixed with water) and about 8 Endurolytes. My shorts were the whitest I have ever seen them and my eyebrows were crusted with salt from all the sweat and fluids I lost. I don't have a clue if this is enough, too much or not enough. I am guessing that since I bonked in the last 5 miles I should have had more of something. Ed

I heartily recommend Endurolytes from hammer nutrition. I have ridden in heat as high as 106 deg and done 100 miles at 96 deg without dehydration/cramping. www.hammernutrition.comor you can find them at inside out sports in cary. I would recommend reading what hammer nutrition has on their website about electrolyte replacement.  My intake varies from 2 per hr when it's overcast to 4-5 per hour when the sun is really out and it's hot. Hey Guys:  I have been using Endurolytes since 2004 when I started doing triathlons.  I have been sharing with you my experiences with dehydration etc and I remember that century we all did near Elizabeth City in 2004 when several of us were cramping.  My problem is my excessive sweat rate so on hot humid days this is what I do: Stay hydrated for serveral days before the event, prior the event I will take 3-4 endurolytes, and from then on I will pop 3-4 per hour.  As far as my sports drink, I have been a fan of Hammergel products but now I get my mixing powder from Infinitnutrition.com  For  people like me (high sweat rate and sodium loss) you can custom make your own fomulation and increase the amount of sodium, calories and even caffeine.  It is worth cheking it out.  I also use Nunn tablets, these are great, the provide you with no calories just just electrolytes and you can add them to your water bottle (PLain water and the tablet) or you can add them to your sporst drink. The electrolyte replacement varies from person to person so it is something you have to tweak on your own, I met an elite triathlete who takes 12 endurolytes per hour. Safetywise in order of health risk the most dangerous issue is a) hyponatremia-  (too much water and not enough electrolytes) it can be fatal b) heat stroke-, which can be controlled with proper hydration, splashing water on your head and core and slowing down .
